Partnerships
Kinetica works through a small set of partnerships and ventures. From the outside they look different: a forecasting and inventory product, a book and a knowledge engine, a finite-scheduling practice, a consulting practice. They are one conviction in different forms: that decisions in complex operations are won or lost under uncertainty, and that the capability to make them well can be built. Each carries the same values. None is a side project.
Kinetica Consulting
The practice through which Kinetica takes on client work directly, and a partnership in the full sense set out on About: aligned on outcome, sharing risk and reward, selective about fit. It is where the conviction meets a specific operation and a specific class of decisions.
production-scheduling.com
A long-standing partnership with Tony Rice, devoted to finite scheduling, the craft of sequencing real production against real constraints. It is where the scheduling methods that turn up in client work are developed, taught and compared.
SoPlenty
A venture with Meinolf Sellmann of InsideOpt that builds forecasting and stochastic inventory optimisation into software. Where most tools hand you one forecast and a reorder point, SoPlenty works with the uncertainty directly, optimising inventory against the range of futures that could actually occur. It is the mathematics of deciding under uncertainty, made usable.
Cracking The Inventory Code
A book on inventory, co-authored with Muddassir Ahmed, and more than a book. The body of knowledge behind it is being built into an interactive knowledge graph and tutor with a natural-language query agent, so the ideas can be questioned and applied, not only read. It is the thinking behind the work, made accessible.
Start with the decision.
We take on a small number of partnerships where values and capability align. If that is the conversation you want to have, let's have it.
